Good News for Train Passengers! No need to fill THIS address for Booking Tickets on IRCTC, Read Here
Here is some good news for train passengers. If you are planning to book your train tickets via IRCTC, you no longer have to fill in destination addresses. Usually, when you book tickets on IRCTC, you have to give a destination address. This was a hassle for many who are travelling just for pleasure and don’t have a particular destination address.
Now, IRCTC has removed that column from the website. This whole process was time-consuming and not required. Often people who didn’t have a destination address were facing a problem.
This column in the booking form came into effect on May 13, 2020, so that the government could trace passengers in case of COVID 19 infections. They later said that the destination address will become a permanent part of the form.
Lately, IRCTC and Indian Railways have been revoking rules that were made during the intense COVID 19 area like they are providing beddings and pillows to passengers, destination addresses are removed. They are also introducing services convenient to passengers like PAN and Aadhaar Card services at railway stations, phone recharge, electricity bill payment etc.
To make these services available to everyone, the RailTel will set up kiosks in stations. It will be called as RailWire Saathi Kiosks. Apart from the above-mentioned services, passengers will also be able to pay taxes, obtain voter cards, and pay for insurance, bus and air tickets.
