Chennai Super Kings faced a major shock after their most expensive pace bowler Deepak Chahar is ruled out from the ongoing IPL season. He was recovering from an injury during the T20I series in India earlier this year and he was expected to join the team soon. However, while recovering, he sustained a back injury due to which he had to quit the tournament.
Chahar took to social media to announce the news:

CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan expressed disappointment in Chahar’s absence but admitted that injuries are part and parcel of the game. He further wished Chahar a speedy recovery.
“We are disappointed because we don’t have one of our main bowlers but injuries are part and parcel of the game. We wish Deepak Chahar a very speedy recovery,” Viswanathan was quoted as saying by the franchise in an official statement.
CSK bought the all-rounder player for a whopping amount of Rs 14 crore. With Chahar no more part of this IPL season, they have to replace an Indian player as there is no place for a foreign player to come in according to the squad formation rules.
