Over the last 24 hours, India registered 1247 new Covid-19 cases, a decline of approximately 43% from the previous day.
On Monday, the country recorded 2,183 new coronavirus infections, a 90% rise in new cases and a 166% increase in the positive rate in a single day.
On Monday, Kerala published its state-level Covid data after a five-day delay, affecting the country’s critical pandemic monitoring parameters such as cases, fatalities, and positive rate.
In a letter to Kerala’s Principal Secretary of Health, Union Health Ministry Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal requested the state to “guarantee daily updation” of Covid data.
Mr Agarwal stated that the Centre has repeatedly emphasised the importance of a strong reporting framework for tracking state-by-state cases and deaths on a daily basis.
According to data from the Union Health Ministry, India’s total number of Covid-19 cases climbed today to 4,30,45,527, with 11,860 active cases.
The death toll has risen to 5,21,966, with one new death reported from Uttar Pradesh.
According to the ministry, active cases account for 0.03 per cent of total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate remains at 98.76 per cent.
The daily positivity rate was 0.31 per cent, with a weekly positivity rate of 0.34 per cent.
