Gangubai Kathiawadi is all set to hit Netflix on April 26. The film is loosely based on the true story of Gangubai Harjivandas, and also a chapter of the book, ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’ written by S. Hussain Zaidi.
Gangubai Kathiawadi bought the theatres back to life after its blockbuster release on February 25. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and her leading lady Alia Bhatt, they set out to tell the story of one of the most respected and powerful madams of Kamathipura during the 1960s.
Netflix announced the film’s digital release on their social media pages across Twitter, YouTube and Facebook. “Dekho, dekho chaand Netflix pe aaraha hai. #GangubaiKathiawadi arrives on April 26th,” the tweet read.
