The CBSE on Thursday made an important announcement that it will hold the 2023 board exams only once in the next academic year. This means they will not conduct Term 1 & 2 Exams separately in 2023 and instead hold one exam for Class 10 & 12 like they used to before the pandemic.
Apart from this announcement, they have also released a detailed syllabus for Class 10 & 12 Board Exam 2023.
“Considering the feedback of stakeholders and other prevailing conditions, the Board will conduct the annual scheme of assessment at the end of the Academic Session 2022-23 and the curriculum has been designed accordingly,” the official notification from CBSE reads.
In the past academic year, the board had divided the exam into two terms for classes 10 & 12. The Term 1 exam had a 50% syllabus and the Term 2 exam had the other 50% syllabus with both objective and subjective questions. They made this new system to avoid dependency on the end of the year assessment policy during the COVID pandemic.
Now, as the cases are declining, the CBSE has decided to go back to its previous system.
Here is the detailed syllabus for Classes 10 & 12 for the academic year 2022-23. As per the updates from the board, CBSE has 114 subjects for Class 12 and 75 subjects for Class 10.
