Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey doesn’t seem to make the mark at Box Office as it planned to. Shahid plays the role of a cricket enthusiast in Jersey whose dreams of being a part of the Indian cricket team are fulfilled in his 40s. The film went through many troubles ahead of its release and the audience had high expectations from it. Unfortunately, it crashed at the box office as its collection went down by 45-50% taking the 4 day BO collection to Rs 16.45 crore. The movie was released on April 22.
BO Collection History
Jersey made Rs 5 crore on Day 3, however, the collection dipped further on April 25 on Day 4. Jersey might make about Rs 20 crore in its total theatre runtime and end up becoming a flop. The drop in collections on Monday has sealed the fate of the sports drama in theatres. It has been majorly affected by KGF Chapter 2. The film might also be discontinued from theatres by its second Friday as Heropanti 2 and Runway 34 are scheduled to release on April 29.
Jersey is a Hindi Remake of Nani’s Telugu film of the same title. The film received fairly good reviews but the competition from other films led to a box office disaster. The film kept postponing a theatrical release to grab the audience’s attention but yet it failed to make a mark.
