In 24 hours, India records 3,303 new Covid cases with 39 deaths

In the previous 24 hours, India reported at least 3,303 new coronavirus cases, bringing the overall number of infections to 4,30,68,799. According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of active cases has risen to 16,980, with 701 new cases reported in a 24-hour period.

Today, the country recorded 39 deaths, increasing the total number of Covid-related deaths to 5,23,693.

According to the ministry, active cases account for 0.04 percent of total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate is 98.74 percent.

The daily positivity rate was 0.84 percent, while the weekly positivity rate was 0.54 percent, according to the ministry.

The number of people who have recovered from the illness has climbed to 4,25,21,341, with a case fatality rate of 1.21 percent.

The total number of doses administered in the country as part of the nationwide COVID-19 immunisation campaign has topped 187.71 crores.

Last year, on May 4, the country reached the two crore barrier, and on June 23, it passed the three crore level. There were 24 deaths in Kerala, two in Maharashtra, two in Uttar Pradesh, and one each in Delhi and Mizoram.

“Our figures are being reconciled with the Indian Council of Medical Research,” the ministry said on its website, adding that the state-wise distribution of figures is subject to further verification and reconciliation.
