The Department of Posts has been providing the National Pension Scheme through the Post offices since 2010 physically. However, for the benefit of the senior citizen subscribers, the Department of Posts has announced that they are starting online NPS (National Pension System). The services started on 26th April 2022.
All eligible senior citizens or retired citizens of the pension system can reap the benefits of this online system and they don’t have to visit the post office physically for any type of services related to the pension system.
Any Citizen of India in the age group of 18-70 years of age group can avail this online facility by visiting the official website of the Department of Posts (www.indiapost.gov.in) under the menu head “National Pension System -Online Services”, Here is the direct link.
Several facilities are available online like new registration, SIP options, initial/subsequent contribution etc.
“NPS Online facility will go a long way in promoting National Pension Scheme (All Citizen Model) and will ensure a secured and dignified life of people in the country in their old age,” the Department of Posts has said.
NPS is a voluntary Pension Scheme of the Government of India managed by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA).
