With 2,897 coronavirus infections recorded in a single day, India’s total number of cases increased to 4,31,10,586, while active cases reduced to 19,494, according to Union health ministry figures released today.
The number of deaths has risen to 5,24,157, with 54 fatalities, according to figures updated at 8 a.m.
The active cases account for 0.05 percent of all infections, whereas the national COVID-19 recovery rate is 98.74 percent, according to the report.
In a 24-hour period, the active caseload dropped by 143 cases, according to the statistics.
According to the health ministry, the daily positivity rate is 0.61 percent, and the weekly positivity rate is 0.74 percent.
The number of persons who have recovered from the sickness has risen to 4,25,66,935, with a case fatality rate of 1.22 percent.
According to the government, the total number of doses provided in the country under the COVID-19 immunisation effort has surpassed 190.67 crore.
Last year, India’s COVID-19 tally reached two crore instances on May 4 and three crore cases on June 23.
There were 48 new deaths in Kerala, two in Maharashtra, and one each in Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.
So far, the country has reported 5,24,157 deaths, including 1,47,849 in Maharashtra, 69,325 in Kerala, 40,105 in Karnataka, 38,025 in Tamil Nadu, 26,183 in Delhi, 23,511 in Uttar Pradesh, and 21,203 in West Bengal.
According to the Health Ministry, comorbidities were responsible for more than 70% of the fatalities.
