Here is some good news for the Central government employees. Their salary is likely to increase again as another DA hike might be on the cards in July or August. According to various media reports, the employees will receive another salary hike soon.
The government employees must note that the DA and DR are revised two times a year in January and July based on the inflation data. There was a massive inflation jump in March as it increased from 6.1 to 7%. This happened mainly due to a rise in food item prices.
The media reports suggest that the DA will increase by 4% in July which will take the DA to 38%.
Previously, the Union Cabinet had approved the hike of 3% in March 2022 for DA under the 7th Pay Commission, taking the DA to 34% of the basic income. Over 50 lakh government employees and 65 lakh pensioners benefitted from this decision.
Since July 2021, when the freeze was lifted, DA and DR have seen 3 hikes and their salary has almost doubled for them.
