Daniel Sams made it to 3/16 while Riley Meredith and Kumar Kartikeya made 2/27 and 2/22 respectively as Mumbai Indians made it to 103 and bowled out CSK in 97 runs. MI had their tough moments before they won from CSK with 5 wickets on Thursday and the Wankhede Stadium.
Mumbai Indians chose to bowl first and they performed well to get the wickets. CSK tried hard on some overs but their batters didn’t show the necessary application to counter the condition and good bowling.
It felt that Mumbai would lose as they ended the powerplay at 36/4, only a slightly better position compared to CSK who were 32/5. Mukesh Choudhary gave a brilliant performance with 3/23 in 4 continuous overs and gave a hard time to MI batters.
The current points table holds a similar position as before. Gujarat Titans maintain their top spot in the league while CSK is now at the 9th position. The top 4 teams in the points table are GT, LSG, RR and RCB. The top 4 teams will go to the IPL playoffs.
Joss Buttler is holding the orange cap with over 625 runs in 12 matches. Rajasthan Royal’s Yuzvendra Chahal is holding the purple cap for taking the most wickets (23 wickets in 12 matches)
