The Indian men’s badminton team was over the moon as they scripted history by beating record champions in Indonesia in the Thomas Cup final on Sunday.
This tournament will go in the history of sports as Team India beat 5-time champions Malaysia in Quarter-finals, 2016 champions Denmark in Semi-finals and finally 14-time champions Indonesia in the finals.
India was able to give this phenomenal performance with World Championships medallist Lakshya Sen, Kidambi Srikanth and the world number 8 doubles duo of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy.

After struggling for a win, Sen delivered when it mattered the most as he gave India a 1-0 lead with an 8-21 21-17 21-16 win over world number five Anthony Sinisuka Ginting in a superb show of temperament and skill.
In the second singles, Srikanth produced a fine number to outclass Asian Games gold medallist Jonatan Christie 21-15 23-21 in 48 minutes to seal the contest.
