Scam 1992 fame Pratik Gandhi is all set for his new OTT series with Applause entertainment as the studio has announced a monumental biopic series on the life of ‘Gandhi’ based on the writings of renowned historian Ramachandra Guha. Applause has acquired rights to Ramchandra’s 2 books – Gandhi Before India and Gandhi – The Years that Changed the World.
Pratik Gandhi has been finalized to play the role of Mahatma Gandhi to recreate the journey of India’s greatest leader. He shared a picture on his Instagram with CEO of Applause Entertainment Sameer Nair and Ramchandra Guha:

Pratik Gandhi said in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, “I deeply believe in the Gandhian philosophy and his values that echo simplicity in its purest forms. I believe it’s a huge responsibility to essay this role with dignity, grace and conviction and I can’t wait to embark on this journey with Sameer Nair and his team at Applause,” Bollywood Hungama reported.
Bollywood Hungama quoted Nair as saying, “Ramachandra Guha is a historian and storyteller par excellence, and we are honoured to adapt his classic books. We couldn’t think of anyone better than the incredibly talented Pratik Gandhi to bring alive the Mahatma, and his philosophies of peace and love that shook the world.”
The series will revolve around Gandhi’s early days when he was a lawyer in South Africa, to lead India to independence from the Britishers and tell the lesser-known facts of his life. The series will also focus on the stories of Gandhi’s contribution to the freedom movement that played a crucial role in the path of India’s independence.
