In 24 hours, India has recorded 20,038 new COVID-19 cases, including 47 deaths

According to Union Health Ministry figures released today, India saw a single-day surge of 20,038 new coronavirus infections, bringing the total number of cases to 4,37,10,027, with 1,39,073 active cases.

The death toll from the illness has risen to 5,25,604, with 47 additional deaths recorded, according to figures updated at 8 a.m.

According to the health ministry, active cases currently account for 0.32 percent of overall infections, with a countrywide COVID-19 recovery rate of 98.48 percent.

The country’s active COVID-19 caseload increased by 2,997 cases in a 24-hour period, according to the statistics.

According to the ministry, the daily positivity rate was 4.44 percent and the weekly positivity rate was 4.30 percent.

According to the statistics, the number of patients who have recovered from the sickness has risen to 4,30,45,350, with a case fatality rate of 1.20 percent.

So far, 199.47 crore Covid vaccine doses have been delivered across the country as part of the statewide COVID-19 immunization program, according to the ministry.

The sickness claimed the lives of 47 people in the nation, including 20 in Kerala, five in West Bengal, four in Maharashtra, three in Punjab, two each in Assam, Bihar, Haryana, and Uttarakhand, and one each in Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Nagaland, and Sikkim.

“Our figures are being reconciled with the Indian Council of Medical Research,” the ministry said on its website, adding that the state-wise distribution of figures is subject to further verification and reconciliation.
