The Telugu Film Producers Guild of India on Tuesday made a special announcement that they are pausing all shoots from August 1, 2022, as per an ANI report.
Movie critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared a press release on his Instagram that read, “Post-Pandemic with the changing revenue situations and increasing costs, it has become important for producers to discuss all the issues we are facing as a community of filmmakers. It is our responsibility to better our ecosystem and ensure that we are releasing our films in a healthy environment. In this regard, all produce members of the Guild have voluntarily decided to withhold shootings from August 1st 2022 to sit in discussions until we find workable resolutions.” Check out the post here:

Due to the COVID 19 lockdown, the cinema hall owners faced major losses and many filmmakers opted to release their movies on OTT platforms. After this became a trend, it was decided that movies will stream on OTT platforms 30 days after their theatrical release. Now, the producer’s council have decided to take some time and resolve this increasing revenue issue that the cinema hall owners and filmmakers are facing.
The Telugu projects will be on halt until the council doesn’t come to any workable resolutions.
In the past few months, apart from Hollywood, the Tollywood industry has given quite a few amazing hits like RRR, and Pushpa. However, with this pause, the shooting for big films like Salaar, Project K, Pushpa 2 and Hit 2 will face major challenges.
